About the event

Join us for Ajoje, a farm-to-table dinner to honor the fruits of the summer: tomatoes. In Nigerian, Ajoje is the spirit of gathering community to share a meal. We will gather at Gnarled Oak Farm, a regenerative livestock farm in Hernando, MS. Chefs Halima Salazar and Dria Price, celebrate one of the fruits of the summer, tomatoes, with a fusion of plantains and herbs. Through this dinner we will continue to explore the deep culinary and cultural roots of West African cuisine and its powerful influence on Southern food traditions. Proceeds support Farming Foodways, a nonprofit dedicated to training and empowering the next generation of BIPOC farmers and food innovators through equitable and hands-on education. Come hungry—leave inspired.
